This beautiful Egyptian inspired necklace has a dangling scarab pendant. The beads are genuine turquoise and the scarab is made from soapstone. The scarab was hand carved with an ankh symbol on the bottom of the scarab.

The ancient Egyptians believed that the scarab was the earthly manifestation of the god Khepri, and pushed the sun across the sky each day, only to disappear and magically re-appear the next morning. As such, it is a powerful amulet for self-creation, transformation, and re-birth. They were worn or carried by the living, and also buried with the dead to help them on their way tot he afterlife.
