The scarab is the most popular good luck charm from ancient Egypt. Symbol of rebirth, transformation, and self-creation, this scarab is actually a dung beetle that the ancients believed pushed the sun across the sky each day. This hand-carved soapstone scarab (full magnet on back).

The scarabs themselves are charming and nice quality. However, the magnet applied to their underside is very weak. It just barely holds up the scarab's weight, but they are totally unable to hold up any paper or other items on our fridge. If we want to use them, we'll need to strip and reapply a stronger magnet strip. We were disappointed.

Heavier and more solid than I figured it'd be...great craftsmanship, a must have.
