Judgement Scene Papyrus Painting - Made in Egypt

A superb original hand-signed painting on papyrus with matte and metallic paints. This painting depicts an illustration from the Egyptian Book of the Dead. To the ancient Egyptians, the judgment of the dead was the process that allowed the Egyptian gods to judge the worthiness of the souls of the deceased. After confirming that they were sinless, the deceased was presented with the balance that was used to weigh their heart against the feather of Maat. The size is 12.75 inches by 17.25 inches. Papyrus is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient times as a writing surface. It was made from the pith of the papyrus plant.
