Our cartouches come in various sizes, and occasionally there is room to add 1 or 2 extra hieroglyphic symbols. If you do have room on your cartouche, you can select from any of the symbols below.

In order to execute this, please first type your name in the text box provided on the personalized cartouche product page. Wherever you would like a symbol, please type the correlating number.

Example: If your name is Kate, then you would have room for one extra symbol on our Medium sized cartouche. If you wanted a Lotus flower symbol at the end of your name, you would type 'kate6' into the personalization box.

The difference is this: pure gold is 24 karat, but it is too soft to work with, so silver and other metals are mixed in to make jewelry. 18k gold has 75% gold content; 14k has just under 60%. The look and feel of 14k & 18k pendants are the same, but 14k is less pure gold, and it costs about 20% less.

As our cartouches are handmade in and then shipped from Egypt, they do take some time to arrive. You can expect your cartouche around 6-10 weeks after ordering.

Chains are included with all sterling silver pendants. If you'd like a thicker chain or a gold chain, please purchase a different chain. Cartouches are packaged with a velvet bag, a polishing cloth, an insert card with our symbols and a white jewelry box.

We have every cartouche stamped (to verify the metal content) by the Egyptian government before exporting, and this often looks like a flaw to our customers, but it is actually part of the handmade nature of the product itself. We have no control over where the pendant is stamped or how many times. The stamps are usually on the front and back of the pendant. Please contact us if you are concerned about the stamp or want a certificate to confirm its authenticity.

We do offer international shipping. Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. We are not responsible for delays due to customs.

Sterling silver and gold are beautiful, practical metals used for jewelry. However, over time, air exposure, and contact with body oils, the metal will tarnish. We accept returns for most items purchased within 30 days. Personalized item returns accepted for damage ONLY. Please contact us with any issues with your personalized cartouche. The item must be returned in the original packaging. You are responsible for return shipping unless the item arrived damaged. Once your return is received and inspected, we will process your refund. Your cartouche was created using symbols that represent sounds which are similar to letters of the English language. There are several hieroglyphs that are similar in sound: the Eagle or Arm can be used for A; Bolt & Cloth for S or Z; Viper for F & V; single Reed, double Reed, and 2-strokes for E, I, or Y. The artist chooses the symbol that will look best for your cartouche. Please contact us before ordering your cartouche if you would like specific symbols.
